A WHOLEHEARTED APPROACH TO THERAPY
Below, are a couple different approaches I utilize
and areas that I specialize in.
THE DARING WAY™
The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. Personally, the work of Brené Brown has completely shifted and inspired my life and the way I engage in the world. Professionally, I have found that both clients and students also deeply resonate with the topics and teaching embedded within her research. As a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator (CDWF),
I would be honored to serve you in this way.
Somatic Experiencing® is a body-based approach to psychotherapy that focuses on resolving trauma symptoms and relieving chronic stress. SE offers a psychobiological perspective on trauma, providing clinical tools to resolve these
physiological states stuck in repeating
patterns of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn.
MINDFUL-BASED STRESS REDUCTION
In March 2016, I had the pleasure of attending and completing a 6-day Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher training intensive through the University of California San Diego (UCSD) Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute. MBSR is an empirically-supported 8-week psycho-educational group intervention that teachers mindfulness meditation as a health intervention.
I am an E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance. These trainings include Jivamukti Yoga® teacher training with Sharon Gannon and David Life; Fluid Power, Chakra Vinyasa Flow, and Yoga Trance Dance with Shiva Rea; and Off the Mat, Into the World® with Seane Corn, Hala Khouri, and Suzanne Sterling. Additionally, I am a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider® (YACEP)®.
EAT, BREATHE, & THRIVE
Eat, Breathe, & Thrive is two module teacher training program that covers yoga-based practices for emotional regulation, exercises for cultivating healthy body image, and meditations for tuning into hunger and fullness signals.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence and strengths-based model for psychotherapy, where "all parts are welcome". I have found the work of IFS to be personally and professionally liberating. While I have yet to undergo official IFS training, it is a modality I incorporate into the majority of my therapeutic work.
