A WHOLEHEARTED APPROACH TO THERAPY
Below, are a couple different approaches I utilize
and areas that I specialize in.
THE DARING WAY™
The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. Personally, the work of Brené Brown has completely shifted and inspired my life and the way I engage in the world. Professionally, I have found that both clients and students also deeply resonate with the topics and teaching embedded within her research. As a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator (CDWF),
I would be honored to serve you in this way.
EMDR
EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that has been proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is an integrative approach intended to alleviate human suffering and to assist individuals in the cultivation of emotion regulation and stabilization.
YOGA
SOMATIC EXPERIENCING®
I am an E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance. These trainings include Jivamukti Yoga® teacher training with Sharon Gannon and David Life; Fluid Power, Chakra Vinyasa Flow, and Yoga Trance Dance with Shiva Rea; and Off the Mat, Into the World® with Seane Corn, Hala Khouri, and Suzanne Sterling. Additionally, I am a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider® (YACEP)®.
Somatic Experiencing® is a body-based approach to psychotherapy that focuses on resolving trauma symptoms and relieving chronic stress. SE offers a psychobiological perspective on trauma, providing clinical tools to resolve these
physiological states stuck in repeating
patterns of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn.
MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION
INTERNAL
FAMILY SYSTEMS
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
(MBSR) is an empirically-supported 8-week psycho-educational group intervention that teachers mindfulness meditation as a health intervention. The MBSR teacher training I attended was offered through the University of California San Diego (UCSD) Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence and strengths-based model for psychotherapy, where "all parts are welcome". I have found the work of IFS to be personally and professionally liberating. While I have yet to undergo official IFS training, it is a modality I incorporate into the majority of my therapeutic work.
