FREE COMMUNITY MEDITATION

Community Meditation is a free and non-denominational group that is intended to offer basic mindfulness meditation techniques to practitioners of all levels.
Whether you are brand new to meditation or are an experienced meditator, this group is for you.
Mindfulness has been defined by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, the pioneer of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, as
"paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally".
The structure of this hour long practice is broken down into three segments.
The first 15-minutes are guided, which may include mindful breathing, gentle movement, or another mindfulness exercise.
Next, we will transition into a 30-minute silent meditation practice.
Finally, the session is concluded with 15-minutes of what we lovingly call "chatting practice," to share about our experience and what may have come up for us during the previous practices.
