I wanted to share with you about a new free program that I am offering.
It’s a 5-Day Mindfulness Mini-Course called Mindful Moments.
I designed this course to offer YOU support and guidance about somatic mindfulness.
Throughout the five days, I will provide you with five 10-minute videos (one video per day) that will include different mindfulness-based concepts and practices, such as mindful breathing, tracking sensation, and expanding your somatic awareness of your inner environment.
Let's take a step back and pause for a moment.
When I’m talking about a "mindfulness" mini-course... what do I mean by mindfulness?
The definition of mindfulness that I resonate with most and the one that I have found most helpful personally and professionally - is by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, the founder of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.
His definition of mindfulness is...
paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally.
Now, I’ve been teaching yoga and meditation since about 2005, and the first parts of that definition I get. So we’re paying attention - it’s on purpose. We're intentionally paying attention. And it’s a present moment practice.
But the last part of that definition, of doing so non-judgmentally, is KEY.
And it is something that I really didn’t discover in my personal practice until many years later.
As a trauma therapist, the intention throughout this 5-Day Mindfulness Mini-Course is to really help you gain agency and understanding of what is going on in your internal environment - of your thoughts, feelings, and body sensations.
What are the sensations that are most present for you in any practice?
What particular practices or breathing exercises help you navigate your various sensations, emotions, and thoughts?
And how do we do all of this mindfully?
These are some simple prompts that I hope this course may support you in getting compassionately curious about.
May Mindful Moments be an anchor of support that helps guide you to a life of wholehearted nervous system regulation.
Course will begin Monday, September 6th. Join anytime.
I look forward to sharing these practices with you.
Wholeheartedly,
